Ret’d Cpt. Angela Brass is a respected Cree leader, veteran, and dedicated community advocate from Wuski Sipihk First Nation in Treaty 4, raised in Treaty 1 (Winnipeg). With a trailblazing career, she became the first female to rise from cadet to Commanding Officer of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Army Cadet Corps, spending over two decades mentoring and training youth across Canada. 

Angela also brings 15 years of experience in the medical field, which has shaped her compassionate and service-driven approach to leadership. She currently serves as the Manager of Youth and Education Programs at Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc., where she is committed to empowering Indigenous youth. 

As Indigenous Veterans Co-Chair (2024), she continues to advocate for First Nations and female veterans, while also co-founding Helping Hand Warriors to support vulnerable community members. Angela remains a lifelong advocate for Indigenous youth, veterans, and community empowerment, making a lasting impact through her leadership and dedication.
