Corporal David Ogungbemi is a dedicated public servant whose career reflects leadership, inclusion, and a deep commitment to community safety. For more than 17 years, he has served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, bringing integrity, professionalism, and a people first approach to every role he has held.

In June 2010, Corporal Ogungbemi was appointed the first Cultural Diversity Officer in RCMP “D” Division. In that role, he worked with both rural and urban communities across Manitoba, building meaningful relationships with diverse cultural groups through listening, outreach, and collaboration. His work helped strengthen trust, improve understanding, and create stronger connections between law enforcement and the communities it serves.

Known for his hands on and community centered approach, David has played an active role in initiatives that bring people together and support public well being. From community outreach events to partnerships with local organizations, he has consistently worked to break down barriers and foster a stronger sense of inclusion and shared responsibility.

Through his leadership on the Commanding Officer’s Advisory Committee on Cultural Diversity, Corporal Ogungbemi has also helped ensure that diverse perspectives are heard and reflected in the work of policing and public service. His contributions continue to make a meaningful impact across Manitoba, strengthening communities and advancing a more connected and inclusive future.
