In Gratitude for the Renewal of the Black Entrepreneurship Program

Here at the Black Manitoba Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) extend our sincere thanks to the Honourable Rechie Valdez, Minister of Small Business, for her steadfast advocacy and leadership in renewing the $189 million investment in the Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP).

Announced during Small Business Week, this renewed commitment is more than funding it is a recognition of the critical role Black entrepreneurs play in shaping Canada’s economy and future. When Black businesses thrive, our communities thrive. This investment will help ensure that Black-owned enterprises across Manitoba and Canada continue to grow, innovate, and create lasting impact.

To Minister Valdez and the Government of Canada, we say thank you. Your support signals that our voices have been heard, and that inclusive economic growth remains a national priority. BMCC looks forward to working alongside our partners to ensure this funding reaches those who need it most—and fuels lasting, systemic change.

The journey is far from over, but with champions like Minister Valdez, we are moving forward with hope, momentum, and unity.
