The Black Manitobans Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) proudly represented Manitoba’s Black business community at Africa at the G7, a groundbreaking forum that spotlighted the African diaspora’s vital role in advancing inclusive trade, innovation, and cross-continental collaboration.
Held alongside the prestigious G7 Summit, this event brought together global changemakers, including policymakers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, to explore how African diaspora communities are not only globally connected but also serve as global connectors.
BMCC delivered a clear and bold message: Africans in Canada are not just participants in the global economy—they are bridges between markets, catalysts for innovation, and strategic drivers of international cooperation. Through our work, we continue to position the diaspora as a crucial asset in forging stronger Canada–Africa trade and investment relationships.
During this historic dialogue, BMCC engaged in meaningful conversations focused on creating a more equitable and inclusive global economy. Our priorities were front and center—equitable access to capital, inclusive procurement opportunities, and policy reform designed to uplift both Black communities in Canada and our partners across Africa.
Advocate for Black entrepreneurs on the global stage
Build long-term trade and investment pipelines between Canada and Africa
Foster leadership and economic empowerment across generations
We extend our appreciation to the many trailblazers, dignitaries, and leaders who helped shape this transformative experience. Their insights and contributions continue to inspire new pathways for collaboration and progress.
From municipal initiatives to national strategies, BMCC actively engages with all levels of government to remove barriers and unlock economic potential. Whether advocating for supplier diversity in public contracts, pushing for equitable investment in Black entrepreneurship, or collaborating on international trade pathways, we are committed to ensuring our members are not just included—they are empowered. This is how we build a future where Black-led businesses are fully recognized as drivers of Canada’s economic success.
At its core, BMCC exists to be a strong, unified voice for Black businesses in Manitoba—not just in boardrooms, but in legislative halls and international forums. Our presence at events like Africa at the G7 reflects a broader mission: to ensure our members are represented where key economic decisions are being made. We recognize that sustainable change for our communities requires meaningful participation in shaping policies that impact access to capital, procurement opportunities, workforce development, and global trade.
