2024 BLACK HISTORY MONTH – A Journey With Manitoba Black Settlers

During Black History Month in Canada, we had the chance to talk with important leaders. These included the Premier, Wab Kinew, the Deputy Premier, Hon. Uzoma Asagwara, and other Cabinet members like the Minister of Economic Development, Investment, Trade, and Natural Resources, Hon. Jamie Moses, the Minister of Advanced Education and Training, Hon. Renée Cable, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Tracy Schmidt.

We talked about the past and the progress we’ve made toward fairness and including everyone. We also talked about the future and how we can keep making things better for Black Canadians. We remember the people who worked hard before us and celebrate their achievements.

As we honor Black History Month, we promise to keep working for diversity, equality, and fairness for all. Together, we can make the future better for everyone.
